  7. Hi, Bob! Merry Christmas to you too!
I was thinking of getting some of us together in 2010 - even if just a small group.

If anyone is interested in getting together here in PA, I would like to hear from you. I would be happy to put a tour together of all the Marsteller history from Trappe and Lehigh County. Please spread the word to our other cousins

  8. My maternal grandfather was John Aaron Marsteller (1868-1952)<William (1827-1904)<Daniel (1795-1847)<Johan George (1761-1833)<Johan George (1731-1787)<Johann George (1695-1751)<Nicholas ????.
I received this info many years ago from George Marsteller at the MFRA. and I hope to update and expand it. I recently contacted Clyde Marsteller who went to Liberty two years before I did, curious as to the connection. I do not have him in my database. I hope to find out if my information is complete and correct and if new info has been found on Nicholas.

  10. Iowa Masteller. I'm Starting to research my family tree and hear of lots of great stories. Jacob Masteller Born 1815, in PA and Died 1882 in Oskaloosa, Iowa appears to be my starting point. From Jacob to present day I have cited and even possess several documents for them. Ancestry.com appears to help me trace it back further yet the stories and documents aren't well cited. Any tips or referrence material would be great.

    1. I think I may have purchased the old Masteller farmhouse in Oskaloosa. I'm trying to verify this. Do you know any history about the Masteller family in Oskaloosa. It's located between the old William Penn College campus and the current university campus. Would love any help you could offer!

  13. We have a mystery female ancestor with maiden name of "Marstella" in late 1700's to early 1800's in Alexandria, VA. Our ancestor is John Young (1775-1813) who marries "Mary Marstella." He is in business with Ferdinand Marsteller and Philip G. Marsteller, sons of Philip Balthasar Marsteller. The Marsteller & Young Wharf is mentioned in historic records of Alexandria, and their "Marsteller & Young" company had a fleet of ships, exported flour and other goods, and a bakery making pilot bread, or biscuits, for the American military preceding and during War of 1812. We are searching for info about Mary Marstella if anyone has anything in their family tree that matches. Also a Rebecca (Marstella?) is mentioned which might have been a first wife of John Young's, or another of his wife's names. One of John Young's sons named Ferdinand Marstella Young moved to Louisiana in mid-1800's. If anyone has any information about a Mary or Rebecca in Alexandria, VA that would be appreciated! We can be reached at strcloud66@aol.com. Thanks! Sue & Marty

  16. We are trying to track Johann Marstaeller and his wife Lucy (nee Francis) from the Alsace Lorraine area to Australia. They had a son John George Christopher ( married to Mary) living in Ipswich Australia in 1861. We'd like to know if Johann and his wife went to America first as we can't find any reference to them in Australia. Any information would be helpful. We are descendants of John George Christopher Marstaeller.

    Thanks
